Okay, the writing was really good. I guess I can admit to that much. I know it was good because it was making me upset.
Jennifer loves Paul. Paul loves Jennifer. He'll do anything to keep the hottest woman on the school campus. Even when he sees her f*cking some stud at a Halloween party (who happened to be dressed just like him), Paul has to admit that he was more turned on then upset. But once he tells Jen of this, she gets a wicked gleam in her eye. The sex with the stranger was good. Real good. Better than with Paul. So they seek the stranger out - the college football quarterback - and Jen (with Paul's blessing) engages in a year's long sexual affair with the only guy who really satisfies her. Of course after each time, she returns home to satisfy Paul.
After the stud's graduation, Jen gets turned on by a professor and once again Paul gives her permission to satisfy her sexual urges with the guy - even going away on long weekend trips. Sometimes she teases Paul with videos of what she's going with the other men. It hurts Paul and it turns him on.
Oddly enough, when Paul and Jen plan their wedding and Jen's little sister arrives to help with the plans, she brings her boyfriend - who, just like Paul, gets a lite turned on watching his love be more sexually satisfied by someone else.
I gotta say, just writing this ticks me off. I want to slap Jen. I want to slap some sense into Paul. I guess there are definitely cuckolded men out there who would be turned on by this, but everything in the story just got me angry. I had to put the book down and walk away some days as I imagined this being done to me. Well, it wouldn't - not for long. I'd kick that woman out of there.
So while the book ticked me off, the writing was really good. I was definitely drawn in otherwise I wouldn't have gotten so upset. But I honestly don't think I can read the next book in the series.
