READEROTICA VOL. 2: TURNING UP THE HEAT - anthology

 This was a collection of short erotica stories. Mostly pretty decent writing. I was disappointed with the format of the book - it referred to each story as a "chapter" which didn't list the title or the author. One had to go back to the front of the book to see titles and authors.  I'd have been disappointed if I had a story in the book.

The best was "Sam" by Cheyenne Blue. Sam is a ghost living in an apartment but can't travel outside the apartment.  Sam is some of the best sex the woman (women) who live in the apartment have ever had. They don't want to move, though of course they must, for work.

"Ravenesque" was my least favorite. It was too cutesy and felt really unfinished.  I don't like unfinished sex.

Overall, it was an enjoyable erotica read.

This was crap. I can't believe it has so many reviews and a decent goodreads rating.

It's full of cheap, fantasy-style language "mayhap" and "padded" instead of walked. Characters speak with a thick Scottish accent. The orcs wear kilts.  What's orcish about this? Why aren't they just some kind of backwoods, hot, Scotsmen? Nothing ... NOTHING about this seems like a fantasy land with orcs.

"I can smell yer wet cunny from over here" says one. And that's the sexiest of the sexy talk.

Yeah, this is a big no.  Definitely not worth pursuing more.

DREAM JOB - Manus Dare

 Ashley and Tim Ward are a happily married couple. Ashley is being offered a dream job as the personal assistant to billionaire Gideon Cole. Gideon is an outstandingly good-looking Black man, extremely good at business and he gets what he wants.  And he seems to want Ashley to be his assistant.  But it means being on hand 24/7. Ashley's up for the job, but is Tim? 

What sexy young woman doesn't want to be the personal slut to the handsome billionaire bull? It doesn't mean she doesn't love Tim. But her sexual cravings can only be satisfied by Gideon.

This was a really well written story, but once again I realize that I do not enjoy cuckold stories.   A woman who wants the physical pleasure for 20 minutes and is willing to sacrifice her marriage for it, is just not something I enjoy reading.  Maybe I'm insecure?

A good book, but I'm just not into the subject.

FANCY GETS SPANKED ON THE BEACH - RuAnn Willhoe

 Fancy and Keith are a mid-life couple - both in their second marriage - who, together, enjoy a sexual lifestyle that includes dominate/submissive sex and welcoming strangers to join them.

One night after a dinner, as Fancy and Keith strolled along the beach, they decided it was quiet and remote enough, and Keith was feeling horny, and he began to control Fancy, ordering her to submit to him in some degrading ways.

Just as they were both getting really turned on, a couple of younger men happened by, curious as to what they were doing. Both Keith and Fancy explained that this was their kink. They loved and trusted each other, but it turned them on to have the strangers watching them. Would the strangers like to join? Again, Fancy said it was okay, though there were rules the men had to follow. But of course they agreed. Who wouldn't want to take advantage of a sexy woman, submissive and willing, on the beach.

I've listened to Ruan Willow's podcast and enjoyed her work, but this was the first time actually reading one of her stories, myself.

I really appreciated that Willow keeps it real and lets her characters explain about the consent and trust. And it came in naturally.

The sex is hot and the story simple, but effective.

THE HOT WIFE, THE SHEMALE AND THE WARDROBE - Jennifer Lynne

 This was a surprisingly well-written book (in general) for a short erotica piece.  This is the first time I've read a book that includes a trans person (is that considered a kink? I'm so vanilla I don't even know if it's a kink - lol).

What the book doesn't advertise in the title is that it's also a cuckold story.

A man, convinced his wife is cheating on him (not really clear why he thinks that) hides in their bedroom wardrobe when he expects her home after a night out at a local club. (He's supposedly out of town for work.)

But he's surprised when his drunken wife comes in ... with a woman!  He never imagined that his wife was having an affair with a woman. And of course he's now turned on as he gets ready to watch the two women pleasure each other.

But the other woman undresses, revealing a massive (9") male appendage. Oooh... the wife is now really turned on. But surprisingly, so is the husband in the closet.

I did have to laugh when the trans person said (as she revealed her penis) "...figured you ought to know my secret before we went any further..."  It's 9" ... how was it a secret?!

This wasn't really my cup of erotic tea, but in general, I enjoyed the writing.

BOSS'S PRINCESS - Sam Aspen

Not too long ago I read an erotic short book about a spoiled young girl who's father sent her to work at his best friend's company and the company owner doesn't let her get away with slacking off and dominates her sexually.  It was a good book, well written for a short erotic story.  So when I came across this book, I decided to give it a read, hoping for some equally titillating sex action. Sadly, this isn't nearly as good.

For one thing, this book is told from the male perspective. That's fine, and it certainly may speak to different readers, but it lacks any real excitement or build to the story climax (pun slightly intended).

There's a lot of pretty decent erotica out there.  This isn't one of them.

THE WOMAN AT THE LAUNDRY - Bellamy Travis

An old west period piece of erotica. 

The Asian laundress is being harassed in the street by three thugs. Marshal Cody Bowen comes to her aid and chases the men off.  She repays his kindness with a little kindness of her own - treating him to some hot sex.

This story was about as simple as it gets. BARELY a story here.  The sex was okay, but there was almost too much attempt to make it mean something, which is kind of off given the lack of story.

I like the concept of this series, but based on this one book, I'm not sure how much I'm going to keep reading this author.
