VOLLEYBALL VIXENS - Jenna Albright

Jason Courtland doesn't want anything to do with volleyball ever again, but then a friend of his mother, Angela, asks a favor of him - to go and watch some of their intramural scrimmages. It's the last place Jason wants to be, but at least he can entertain himself watching the gorgeous members of the team, appropriately named Served Hot.

Jason clearly has a past, and some talent, with volleyball, and it's unclear why he doesn't want anything to do with it, but the women take turns trying to get a little more and more out of Jason ... and not just volleyball lessons.  They know that their voluptuous bodies in the skin-tight uniforms have an affect on Jason, and each of them takes turns with the young stud.  Each of them except Yvette, the married foreigner on the team.

Will Jason reveal his secret as to why he hates volleyball when the beautiful women are having their way with him?

Women volleyball players and sex ... this sounds like a sure-fire winner.  Unfortunately the book isn't quite sure what it wants to be.  Is it a male romance story?  Is it erotica? The subtitle ("A Harem Fantasy") suggests erotica, but the sex here is too little and too soft.  A harem would suggest that the lone male in the book would be more in control of the situation and his harem, but the women here are definitely the ones in control.

I also think that author Jenna Albright misses out on a very obvious opportunity ....  What red-blooded male hasn't watched a women's volleyball match and entertained some 'impure' thoughts?  But let's face it ... it's generally not because of their breasts ... it's the way the women look in those tight, nothing-to-the-imagination shorts, coupled with their squatting stance that gets the blood a-pumping.  But not once did Jason stare, ogle, or admire an ass in this book.  Instead he was constantly focused on the breasts.  But come on ... even a breast man is going to get excited by tight asses in spandex.

I've got a whole series of Jenna Albright books, but I hope they fare a little better (more exciting) than this.
